Jikiden Reiki

The word Reiki translates as “universal life force energy”. It is a method of healing from Japan which has been effective with healing for all types of illness and disease. When utilizing Reiki, the improvement in one’s condition can be extraordinary.  Reiki is a spiritual healing art that is not dependent on any belief structure.  The energy will flow whether or not the recipient has faith in the healing. Once attuned to this energy by receiving the gift of Reiju from a proper teacher, the life force energy flows from the practitioner’s hands, feet, eyes, and breath forever.  As the universal life force energy flows from the attuned practitioner, it is transmitted to the recipient via a gentle laying-on of hands or a can be even be done remotely from anywhere on the planet. We are all One and as such, the mental constructs of time, space, and distance do not apply.  

The energy being transmitted is the natural vital life force that is ubiquitous to all living things.Other traditions have named this energy Chi, Prana, Qi, or Ki; they are words to describe the same universal energy. This energy flows into the recipient and brings balance to the mind, body, and spirit. The energy can be focused into a specific body system or area, however the energy carries its own inborn intelligence and will instinctively flow to every cell structure in the body.  The energy also will remove energy blockages or stagnant energy within the body, otherwise known as Byosen.  These blockages can slow the body’s natural healing response. Treatment brings support for physical healing of the body and the mind/emotions.  Healing treatments are non-intrusive.  Pain, swelling, and traumatic injuries feel relief almost instantly and are improved greatly with one or two sessions. Chronic problems may require several treatments. Reiki supports any healing modality and there are no contraindications. Treatments can be administered remotely during surgery to speed healing. People of all ages can receive treatment. Animals can receive as well. Sessions can be administered in-person or remotely. Physical and emotional treatments are available. 

The Jikiden Reiki lineage began in Japan.  It was founded by Chiyoko Yamaguchi and her son Tadao Yamaguchi. Jikiden means “directly taught” in Japanese, taught with nothing added or amended to the natural modality. The kanji symbols have been kept a secret within the lineage and have retained their spiritual energy and are different from mainstream symbols found in popular culture.  By keeping the lineage pure and intact, it works quite differently from the Reiki that has been passed down in the West that has become quite popular in recent years.   

Reiki is a beautiful healing modality and a gift from the spiritual realms.  In her desire to alleviate the suffering of the people of the Earth, the Lord of Compassion cried a single tear.  That tear became a womb which carried the spirit of Quan Yin, the embodiment of these divine healing energies.  She is the immortal Goddess of Mercy and the Bodhisattva of Compassion.

In other traditions she is known as the thousand-armed Avalokitesvara.  Portrayed as standing on a lotus blossom or sometimes riding three dragons, her purity remains unstained by the ignorance and darkness of the world, even as she reaches out to be of service.
